When misalignment occurs and the spinal column experiences subluxation, associated muscles, tissues, ligaments and tendons all become involved. These situations can be a result of injuries, occupational accidents or the stress of modern living due to poor diet, lack of exercise or a sedentary lifestyle. When you come to visit our experienced chiropractor, we will determine which treatment modalities best suit your needs for rehabilitation, relief care, recovery and daily wellness.

Generally, offering spinal adjustments over time will recruit the nervous system into realigning the spine. Using acupuncture and or massage therapy are the perfect complements to regular chiropractic care. The tissues and muscles we described above sometimes need “convincing” so that a thorough spinal adjustment can take place. Muscles and tendons often over-spasm, become shortened or lengthened given the individual nature of the case. Massage therapy can be used during a chiropractic adjustment, before and after to help restore proper anatomical location and reduce stress on the body. Massage therapy can help reduce inflammation while simultaneously improving overall range of motion by reducing metabolic waste that builds up over time.

Acupuncture works by inserting sterile, hair thin needles into various points along the skin’s surface. While massage therapy can reach a wide area at once, acupuncture can provide localized, precise attention as well as whole body benefits. Acupuncture is ideal to release what we refer to as motor points. Motor points, commonly known as trigger points are areas where muscles have over-spasmed and become too tight and unable to support associated structures such as vertebrae. When acupuncture needles are inserted into the motor points, the muscle lets go of its grip on nerves and creates muscular relaxation.

Massage and acupuncture when coupled with chiropractic can also ease emotional stress. Lifestyle stress or stress surrounding actual chiropractic treatment responds very well to the use of all three dynamic modalities together.

Nutrition can be an overwhelming area to take on alone.  We all know we should eat good, but often times there are many obstacles that get in the way.  Our counseling on supplements and weight loss program for dietary advice are important avenues to help change a lifestyle from one of survival to one that thrives.

Acupuncturists, chiropractors and massage therapists agree that the benefits of in-office treatment can be increased by lifestyle modifications performed between visits. This may include prescribed exercises, certain food therapies and nutraceutical treatments. We will work together to be sure all suggestions mutually accentuate one another.

Are you ready to experience the benefits of whole body healing with chiropractic, massage therapy and regular acupuncture treatments? Our caring team looks forward to seeing you at a visit soon!
